Have you ever heard of the famous experiment on people losing $20 bill by mistake and gaining $50 for free but still people regret losing $20 more than free $50 .... the emotions associated with regret are more stronger and powerful compared to the feeling of gratitude.
Simply put, being grateful full of gratitude is not easy for anyone. We feel regret when something is taken away while it was available for granted:
Upon death of a famous public figure this summer, resulted in regret from a lot of cinema viewers who did not give him enough credit while he was alive. And why not? When someone is available, it is assumed all is well.
Harkirat Singh directed a famous short clip regarding the same as well.
Regret is a Stronger Feeling Than Gratitude
There are a number of similar studies stating similar results. It does not make different, it makes you unique or weird or just a normal human if that's what a human feels. However, Psychology Today will tell something else otherwise.
Time to recharge and recover.
