Flying back on the evening of 24th December,2012, may sound exciting.
The joy of Christmas
may let your forget all the worries of the travel.
However, this time it’s a partial joy of flying back home (Dallas for now) for
Christmas.
The excitement calls to the end of a productive year of
teaching and travel.
Lets take a look at the stats.
Number of platform days
= 188 days
Total days in the year = 365 days
Prob. = 0.51 ,
This means on any given second day , I was teaching .
more than 50% of the time.
An average class duration is 8 hours.
8/24 = 0.333. More or
less, I was spending one third of my time.
Teaching or training
. If I include 2 hours wasting in traffic everyday
8 hours for proper sleep . I have 6 hours left behind. These 6 hours
include the time to
catch up and prepare for next days and relax.
includes eating schedule as well.
This estimation boils it down to
the pretty much 24 hours
covered.
Question is ? Why to discuss this ? What did I learn from all this
or just
taught with straight face?
My first class this year covered North
America virtually J.
First three days of the class in Canada ,
last two days in United
States .
From there on started the avalanche of distance classes.
January, was spend in
delivering distance classes online.
Feburary, brought a breath of fresh air with internal classes
,mixed
with distance classes and to wrap up the month, went to see the
beautiful DC
Area and Sprint big
offices in Reston,VA .
March madness was filled with trips to Kentucky and welcoming
spirits of the red necks from country side. To top the schedule
with digestible schedule I got some better AIPP classes.
April , was fun , from North Carolina
to Seattle , LTE
was everywhere
From Verizon to Blue grass, from Ericsson to ACS Alaska.
Everyone wanted
To learn about LTE J
May , brought the advent to hot season. To cool off, I was
fortunate
to spend the weeks in
Seattle ,
accompanied by trip to DC and KY.
In short road warrior percentage for May was 75%
I have never been to MO, just heard of it. The month of June
brought
with it the joy of visiting MO + having some adventure at
the airport.
J, off course, rest of the month was mixed by distance
learning.
July was a month to relax and focus on DL for two weeks
only, followed
By the fully packed DL month of August.
September brought a trip to Iowa and rest of the month was usual
DL classes to
T-Mobile.
How can travelling fun end, without including sunny California in the picture.
October brought a
trip to LA ,followed by DL classes.
November was pretty slow and just delivered one class to
internals.
December was fun , reached the end of the year with trip to San Francisco
Followed by Hartford ,
CT
corporate diplomacy as exercised by individuals.
However, now when I look back , the whole year flew by L.
Off-course, I have learned a lot of new experiences,
professional
exposure, met some failures, faced some harsh realities, came
to know some
dirty politics .
In order to earn a living and make both ends meet I had to place
personal goals on the back burners.
Question still remains un-answered. How to tackle all
this ??
Having described all the travelling and teaching in a nut shell.
At the end of day, my
regret and thirst still remains there, for a vision.
The vision to focus more on my
school. Get my two year old pending
research paper
published and graduate with flying colors.
