Mr. Mike is a great speaker, and he knows how to strike with words when the iron is hot. Reading his biography I learned he has been a mediocre student. He has not been a linguistics or language majors. But when he speaks no one can judge his background or biography. Welcome to the power of speaking, that's all I can conclude when I meet people like him. Welcome to the power of speaking. We all take it for granted and never wonder to improve or excel in it by following some guidelines or so, which can help us to do the same magic as great speakers and leaders do.
Although , humans start to speak fluently from the age of 2 years or so , however the art to speak words to make your point, make people follow you, can take forever if you never notice it.
Communication as much as it is important in our daily life , is neglected, since we assume as long as we can speak we are good that is true though. But on the contrary , lets have a look at history channel for moment.
Most of the leaders, political , social etc in the past and present , have one thing in common. They make people follow them , trust them based on their words and speeches. Although people do know, at times that leaders do not fulfill their words always. However they are always good at one thing, they can speak with boldness ,confidence and convince you with what they want. I think this is what make them stand where they are.
My point is , I am not suggesting that we all should follow this pattern of making false speeches and talks to get what we want.
Communication is the way to make hearts melt and make people understand your point. If all speak the same language does not guarantee we can explain our point better than others. The point to learn is, we all need to train ourselves in the art of communication. Toastmasters is the platform to be.
